U.S. domestic oil production peaked in 1971 and has been in decline ever since. Also worldwide, oil production peaked in 2005 and will go into decline before 2012.

You clearly do not know what you are talking about. Prudhoe Bay didn't even go into production until March 1977.

The hybrid Smart isn't sold in the US. One should probably do one's homework before one posts conclusions again.

When Prudhoe Bay came into production is irrelevant to the year that crude oil production in the U.S. peaked as the Energy Information Agency clearly points out.

U.S. Field Production of Crude Oil (Thousand Barrels per Day)

When Prudhoe Bay produced 20% of all the domestic oil in the US it is hardly irrelevant. But I have no doubt you will continue to believe this fiction like so many other fantasies that you regularly adhere. It further reinforces the stereotype of ignorant liberals.

You were linked to government supplied data. It would seem to have peaked in 1970-1971 (basically as he said earlier).

Yes, for all models. Those aren't hybrids.

There will be an electric (not hybrid) pilot program in "late 2010", paving the way for a planned introduction of an electrical version in 2012.

So: No hybrid. None planned for the US market.
