They can't go to Canada and work because Canada enforces immigration rules. Companies can't hire illegals and illegals are deported.
I know three restuarants that have illegals working, but the cops can't do anything because "it's not there jurisdiction". INS won't do anything because they want work schedules, names of the supervisors and want to know who knew that the people are here illegally. The corporate office won't do anything because some of the restaurants are franchisees. The franchise office won't do anything either.
Bull****. Canada has illegal immigrants working here too. Mexicans too. And people hire them anyway, unfortunately. Canadians aren't THAT nice.
Exactly -- they want money and the good easy life --- in the USA!! They don't want to stay in a country that has nationalized health care. The title of this thread says "thousands" but we have many millions voting with their feet. They like our system best.
If universal or national health care were really so great, you'd get millions of Americans going to live in Canada or Mexico. Canadians might stay in Canada -- I don't know what the statistics are on that, but I don't you've got any huge immigration problems with Americans sneaking in to live under your system.
Our other border is also with a country that has a nationalized health care system and they're trying to flee it by the millions.
Whatever you need to tell yourself. Mexicans aren't moving to the US in droves for your healthcare. Go back to your regularly scheduled Faux News. You obviously can't handle the concept that you might not be the most awesomest of awesome countries in the whole wide world snowflake.
Why are they 1. Fleeing by the millions a country that has nationalized health care. 2. The Canadian border is probably not even a 24 hour bus trip. If national health care was really great, then about $100 for a greyhound bus ticket and a 24 hour ride, they could be back in a country with national health care.
They're not after healthcare. They have healthcare. Why would they go from one nationalized HC country to another and pay more money for the trip and more time and go to a place where the languages are English and French? You're not making any sense. You really are a product of your countries school system huh?

They probably just don't care about their health care system.
Maybe their employer in the United States has them covered so they don't need to worry?
Oh yeah -- Cubans too -- don't they also have a national health care system? Yet they prefer the USA way of doing things over their own way.
Maybe you chose Canada -- many millions more chose the USA.
You take in more people (because you have a larger population, you can do that) and your requirements are lower. If you know you can't get through Canada's point system, where else are you going to go? It's okay, you can take our rejects.
What are you smoking? The ACA was passed despite Republicans voting against it. The ACA is wholly owned by Obama, Pelosi, Reid and the rest of the gang.
If they had been reasonable, the monstrosity never would have been written in the first place. Hence, Republicans are equally responsible for the mess.

How were they unreasonable? Nobody even read the bill before it was passed.
Your sources seem to support what I said. Canada enforces immigration rules.
They try. Still, the guy who just did renovations on my house was complaining about being undercut by businesses with illegal immigrants working for him from Poland and the Philopines. The problem is a reality in all developed nations.

Before any bill was written the Republicans had already stated they were against anything Obama had to offer.
