Homeboy bought a Japanese car no less!

Former Tenn. senator used 'Cash for Clunkers' to buy Prius - WKRN, Nashville, Tennessee News, Weather, and Sports |

"NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The federal Cash for Clunkers was even too good of a deal for former Tennessee Senator Bill Frist to resist. The former Republican Majority Leader and not a big fan of the Obama Administration's stimulus plans is the brand new owner of Toyota Prius."

So he took advantage of a program available to the public.
Now if you want to talk about abuse of programs lets talk about what kind of cars our elected reps drive on the taxpayers dollar.
Rangel drives a caddillac I believe.
Outrageous Car Leases by Members of Congress!
How many of these cars make the green list?
Now these people are hypocrites.

Good for him. At least Frist had the intelligence to buy a Toyota. I note that Howard Dean bought a Ford. But then no one has ever accused Dean of being smart.

Considering the man is worth tens of millions of dollars from his family owned hospital chain (which paid $1.7 billion for Medicare fraud, BTW) you'd think he could have left the money in the fund for someone who really needed the help paying for a new car. But no, there he is with his hand out taking government aid.

That is silly. Do you expect him not to take deductions for his children on his tax return because he is rich? The program isn't means tested.

The wealthiest people in DC happen to be democrats. Oddly enough many of them shelter their money in Tax free municiple bonds and such. A favorite kennedy trick.

Funny, for weeks I have read the rabid Republicans on this forum scream about "Japanese Cars" and whine about how horrible this program is. Now that a former Republican Majority Leader takes part in the program and buys Japanese, it's all good for you guys. Why is this not a surprise? Even more funny is the post above berating Dean for buying American. This only goes to show what a group of unmitigated hypocrites the GOP are, from top all the way to the bottom.
