is this really anything approaching constructive debate?

i expect this kind of blatant, unsubstantiated fearmongering from random yelling people at town halls and right wing radio hosts, but i honestly did not expect to hear it straight from the GOP.

Fundraising letter hints GOP health care at risk (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2009/08/28/national/w093733D62.DTL&tsp=1 - broken link)

The national Republican Party has mailed a fundraising appeal suggesting Democrats might use an overhaul of the health care system to deny medical treatment to Republicans.

A questionnaire accompanying the appeal says the government could check voting registration records, "prompting fears that GOP voters might be discriminated against for medical treatment in a Democrat-imposed health care rationing system."

It asks, "Does this possibility concern you?"

I wouldn't doubt that they would if they thought that they would get away with it as a means of leveraging more votes for themselves.
Good ole Rahm does favor the strong arm tactics.

Man, this is even better than their phony lying fear mongering "Death Panel" crap!!!

HOWEVER, I thought of it first!
If Repubs don't like Obama's health care then , when it's available they should NOT have an option to buy it....afterall, even if it's cheaper and better why should they be able to have SOCIALIST health care?

(But I bet a lot of these two-faced critters sign up!!!)

So maybe they just want everyone to switch to Democrat. Then no more Republicans.

What about the Independents ? Can they still get healthcare ?

LOL..voter registration required to sign up for healthcare and only Democrats need apply

The fear-mongering isn't seasonal, it's become the hallmark of the GOP and goes on all year, every year.

Sounds good to me...the repubs don't want lower premiums and better care ...let 'em feed the fat cats.

As to Independents..hmmm, well since they're really Democrats that just don't know it we should let them sign up....But NO repubs....

Do you truly find the idea so unrealistic? Both parties use the IRS to go after political opponents. During the Clinton years many conservative groups found themselves targeted by the IRS. For you libs at heart here is a link to an article in WSJ about a group finanaced by Exxon that appears to have influenced the IRS to audit Greenpeace.

If the IRS can be used, do you really think it so unrealistic that if the government takes over healthcare in this country politicians won't use the deprivation of healthcare to punish opponents? Think it through.

Then it would follow that the GOP opposes healthcare reform as they want to keep feeding their fat-cat corporate thieves, right?
