Some say Van Jones was not properly vetted and they would be wrong. It's not that his views were not known but rather his views, in all probability, are held by those doing the vetting and so were/are considered normal and even desirable. That is the problem.
Give yourselves a hand - all of you who care whether or not an admitted communist, racist, black nationalist, America-hater, 9/11 Truther belongs in the WH.

Valerie Jarrett should go. She knew all about him and brought him in the white house. That makes her just as rotten to the core as Van Jones. If she stays after this, it's just wrong.

Too bad that it took so long, and too bad that our president would choose someone of such questionable character.
Tha is the most troubling part about this. I knd of ignored the Ayers controversey during the campaign but it seems Barack Obama has a real problem with surrounding himself with respectable, qualified people. But since he is not qualified to be President what can you expect?
I have tried to get used to the idea that Obama is President, the Dems won, and get behind him in some manner but it is impossible. I still respect the office but have to watch him with BOTH eyes open at ALL times...why you ask?? Simple, my father was a simple cop who used to give me a lot of advice. His simplest advice was the following: "Son, you can tell a lot about a person by the people they call friends." Now let's look at our President:
1) Reverend Wright....a racist and anti-American who the President was FORCED to distance himself from during the campaign.
2) William Ayers....devout socialist who blew up a police station with a bomb!!!
3) Tony Rezko....convicted felon.
4) Tim Geithner..."Oh, I know I am going to be in charge of the Treasury, but did I have to pay taxes on ALL of my income??"
5) Van Jones...An out an out anti-American racist......
Please add to the list of wonderful people that our President calls "friends"........if these people don't bring the President's character and where he wants to take this country into question then nothing will. If the American people want to remain ambivalent, they will get what they deserve!!!!
Good for Van Jones. He had to realize that he was a huge liability for Obama. If only Robert Gibbs would get a clue.
I have to say one thing. Being the Press Secretary (Gibbs) for any President has to be the worst job in the world. You have to know everything and if your boss changes his mind a lot or is ambiguous/pie in the sky when he speaks, how the heck are you supposed to answer questions that seek specifics? Obama is way up there and not big on details so Gibbs must get a lot of detail oriented questions to fill in the blanks. Plus, although you work for the White House, you get questions about more than the president. I think if I had Robert Gibbs' job, I'd be swigging Pepto Bismol all day. And with all of these Czars, like Van Jones, added into the mix, I might become a drinker, too.
Considering this guy was, what? Supposed to be doing something regarding the environment, yes? I don't see what his political background has to do w/anything. Apparently he was pretty respected in that community. Oh well.
Perhaps you should read up on him and his beliefs about "environmental justice" etc. if you don't think a persons background has to do with anything. It has everytihng to do with everything to the extent that he can affect our lives, and that was his job.
This is great news, but these people never go away. They just start teaching at our colleges and universites.
Angela Davis is still out there, and teaching, and of course the infamous Ward Churchill, William Ayers, and many, many others.
