I was driving home from court so I missed the news to see what happened after Obama's speech.

Any rioting?

Kids taking their teachers and administrators hostage?

Students declaring a dictatorship of the proletariat?

Emergency room visits for people traumatized by exposure to a black President?

My kids came home with prayer mats that they made as part of the post-speech curriculum. They were up at 5am, on their mats, praying while facing the White House.

No nothing has happened. The speech was useless and meaningless.
As is expected the students really could not care less what a politician in a suit has to tell them. They will go on with their lives the same way regardless.
Just a typical ploy by the President to make us think he really cares about education. All talk nothing of substance.

It is not just him, the public schools have been rotting for years. Fortunately I went through before they really plummetted.

Show me some action on education, show me the same fight for education reform (which is 100Xs more important) as for Healthcare reform. The public schools are pitiful and just throwing money at them is not the answer. The system needs to be reformed, more attention must be paid to Science and Math. In general Schools need to better prepare these students for the real world.

You nailed the "problem" on that last sentence.

What happened?

The half way intelligent repubs are embarrassed (once again).

The regular repubs are valiantly trying to change the subject after being made (easily) to look like illiterate anti-education nut cases.

It was fun!

The expression is actually couldn't care less; meaning they could not care any less than they do now. If they could care less it means they do care what some politician in suit has to tell them.

Well, as per my local newspaper, we are in danger of being over-run by a bunch of kids who were inspired to stay in school and work hard

Well, it is fun to watch the left scream racism again. It shows they are backed into a corner and had better keep screaming racism to block the harm they have done to the nation. There is nothing based on reality emanating from your post. Nor is there anything productive or positive to help the situation. Just foolish democratic dribble points adding to the idiocracy not suppressing it.
