Good question for sanrene. I'm very interested in her response.
CUT spending, drastically. The only growth going on is in the government and it will be very hard to put that Genie back in the bottle. When is the last time government spending has been reduced? IT never happens, but that is what needs to be done - across the board - at least a 25% cut. There will be howling and gnashing of teeth, but somehow the government was able to live on a $1 trillion budget, $2 trillion budget, $3 trillion budget - now we are up to $4 trillion.

Cut taxes, corporate, individual.

Don't come up with anymore programs (UHC, Cap&Tax) that will add to the deficit. Don't even think about raising taxes, on anyone, especially in a time of severe recession.

Every state needs to do the same thing. California is a perfect example of what not to do - as the recession hit and then deepened, instead of reducing government that mirrored the reduction in revenues, they dramatically increased government spending, through taxation mostly, which then drove out business and individuals - a vicious cycle of incompetence.

There never should have been any bailouts, period, in the financial or auto sector. Let them fail - if they can't compete/keep their own house in order, they deserve to go out of business. The Auto bailout was for one reason only - to save the unions.

Just curious: how did YOU feel about Bush's $500 billion deficit? What did you want him to do? Who did you blame for that spending?
I didn't like it at all. Why do you think the GOP lost the majority in 2006? Their constituents held them accountable for their deviation from conservatives principles.

Conservative here. I would never wish for the downfall of our President, Democrat or Republican. I don't like his policies, and wish (most, but not all) for those policies to be defeated, but have NOTHING personal against the man or his family. I pray for their safety and health every night before I go to bed. If he and his family were to visit my home, I would welcome them with open arms.

I want all of his fascist, socialist, pro union, big gubmint takeover agenda to fail miserably.

All of his pro capitalism, free society, defend America, small gubmint, low tax agenda I want to succeed beyond his wildest dreams.

Go gettem Barry!

And bailouts, auto takeover, HC takover, massive debts, massive deficits, massive taxes, cap&tax wasnt taking place before Obama took the white house?

How old are you, btw?
You're asking a loaded question. Most people don't really want to give the man a hard time, but it's not as simple as you put it. His policies will hurt the Country more than help.

That sounds so high school, worried about what other people think. Why don't we just take care of our own backyard, worry about our own citizens and possibly the rest will take care of itself as far as other countries go.

You know the DOD lost 10% of their budget this year. Its a start, not that my particular job will benefit, but its a start nonetheless.

Some people are just hyper-sensitive.

They're all the same God, just different names.

And debt is debt. So during the Bush years did you want Bush to fail as well?

Heck yeah! I'm a conservative, but his policies during his 2nd term were ridiculous to me and I could not get behind them.

Well, for starters, when you're in debt spending even more money that you don't have isn't a good place to begin.
