I am a moderate conservative and if Bush continues to push the illegal alien amnesty, his approval ratings will be 5% by end of 2007.

I kid you not.

That's right. After Mitt Romney takes over (a fiscal conservative), America will be in much better fiscal and international shape.

Furthermore, Mitt is very anti-illegal immigration, so he will become a favorite soon.

They are between a "rock and hard place" now aren't they? When I think of Romney, it brings to mind the Republican National Convention where they were all waving "flip flop" sandals. And, they Kerry of being a flip flopper? LOL

If he gets us out of the war after having accomplished something of value, his rating will go up. If gas goes down at this point they will go up even higher. If we are still losing lives in Iraq, or if we pull out with nothing to show for it (unlikely) , then his ratings may hit unprecedented lows.

Anyway, I heavily doubt the Iraq situation will get any better it will probubly be the same old in Iraq as has been the case since 2003.

I do not think the majority of Republican worship, as you put it, Bush at all. The Republicans hate his stand on illegal immigration and they are not happy with Iraq, but we do understand that no one can fight an effective war with all the left-wing whiners that we have in this country that are either supporting the enemy or more worried about the enemy than our troops.

Republicans will still be Republicans because of what’s on the other side, abortion, euthanasia, open borders, the destruction of our traditions, moral decay and the hatred for any semblance of our Christian heritage.

PS: I will just make an assumption that I am entitled to my opinion here.

I certainly respect your opinion... but there are progressive/liberal Christians out there. No that's not an oxymoron. I will give conservative Christian organizations credit for being more vocal and organized.

And I say this when I'm not particularly religious.

Getting back to topic... for the record, I believe that, barring some huge breakthrough in the Iraqi civil war we are currently refereeing... or Bush riding to work in a Prius... his approval ratings will be about the same, if not even a few percentage points lower.

Who cares about his approval rating? Certainly not Bush. I think he is well beyond caring about it. He did what he did knowing it would probably not be popular. He did it in spite of it. He stands by what he believes is right.
