Austin13, if we just ignore them, they won't get the rise out of us that they're hoping for.
I'm really looking forward to tonight's speech, and even more so now, being privy to a small part of its content.
I bumped in to Barack Obama a few minutes ago and he asked me to look at his speech and give my thoughts. After I finished laughing my a@# off, he said he would try to come up with something better. It's so nice being privy, don't you think?

You're right. I, too, am looking forward to the speech tonight. I am very interested to hear what the President has to say about the champion of healthcare reform, Ted Kennedy.
My leg has already started tingling in anticipation of tonight's speech...
You know, I actually feel a little worried for President Obama. If he acts like a pitbull and forces a left wing health reform bill through he will lose the independents. If he "wimps out" and negotiates with the blue dogs and Republicans the liberals will abandon him.
I bet he goes with the latter because Independents are more important then the fringe left wing loonies.

Sums up his dilemma nicely.
Obama does not have a majority to accomplish what he wants.
Thank you, Jill, for providing a thread for those who admired and respected Ted Kennedy for his years of work for the least powerful among us, even though so many people chose to attack him every day of his imperfect and admirable life.
Yup, and will continue to attack someone that escaped the punishment so richly deserved him. Imperfect? Is that just another word for "caused an accident while drunk, then left the scene to leave a young woman to die, in order to protect his political career"? There is nothing he could have done in his life to make up for that.
So, ringwise, what do you think PRESIDENT Obama will say tonight regarding Ted Kennedy and healthcare reform?
