My point is, that I understand that many people ae not represented by the type of comment I referred to. But when people do not call folks that they are aligned with to task.... what should I assume???

I understand but there are some people that are so off the chart that no matter what we say it will not matter. If I thought for one second that me chasting him would make him change his views I would but there are some that you just know won't. I hope that makes sense. I have go to task with many conservtives on here about gay marriage unfortunatly it was for not because they still think they are right and still have a serious hate for the idea. There are some that you can talk to and some that you are better off ignoring.

EQUALLY pertinent might be the question, "If you are a REPUBLICAN, are you reluctant to admit that you're a MINORITY"?

I understand what you are saying, and I agree, you cant reason with crazy people. ;-)

But, some of our policticans/politcal leaders really seem to fan the flames with the fringe. It is frustrating when they are not called to task but instead excuses are made. Like much of what we heard about Obama addressing school kids was just nonsense. I have much more respect for a person that holds to their positions, yet calls out nonsense when necessary. I also recognize that many in the media and leadership use the lunatic fringe because it is entertainment and it does produce ratings. (entertainment in a car crash kind of way.) ;-)

ETA: Thanks for the exchange without bashing.

I'm a mixed race female - personally, I don't see why you have to admit any party affiliation. No one else's business. That said, there are probably many Black people who are conservative, but I wouldn't bother to ask. I'm a centrist, conservative on some things, socially to the left. Being more left socially, I don't really have many options out there. Frankly, I have followed the party called "Apathy".

I do agree that I wish politicians would call out the nuts on both sides. It only makes both parties look "taken over" by the crazy people. It is truly sad. So funny you mentioned the Obama speech because I WAS seriously against it until a great lefty on here made me change my mind.

I will admit that on some topics I am very ridged and there is little room for change in my eyes but I do cringe when I read and hear some of the really right wing nuts because I know people like yourself will think we are all like that but I assure you we are not.

FACT: Democrats were for slavery, Republicans were for abolition... FYI, the Republicans won (Union vs Confederacy).

FACT: Democrats pushed for the Indian Removal Act which resulted the removal of Native Americans from their homeland onto reservations, as well as the closure of 8 Indian casinos in the 1990s. Majority of Indian Wars were approved by a Democrat President.

FACT: The Cardinal for the KKK is a Democrat.

FACT: The civil rights movement was largely opposed by the Democrat party.

FACT: The Republicans pushed for Women's and Minority's right to vote and served in the military. Democrats only push to have Homosexuals openly serve in the military. Who has their head on right? Not the Dems!

FACT: Democrats don't give a damn about the minority, will only use to minority to push their agenda. If they cannot enslave you, they will CON you.

What have Democrats truly done for black people?

Welfare?

Victim mentality?

The same black folk that were poor under Reagan were poor when Clinton got sworn in.

My people are like zombies to the Dems and the Dems know it. They know they have black folk in their pocket and can do what ever they like. They go into black churches do that condescending black folk speak:

YouTube - Hillary Clinton Mimics and Insults Black Church Goers

YouTube - Barack Obama Speaks at Dr. King's Church

We have power that we'll never use because we give all our love to the Donkey. It's like the boyfriend who does anything he wants with his girl. Ignores her until he wants something. Disappears for days. Why? Because she won't look at another guy. Ever!

The other guy tries to show her a better way. Tries to woo her. But she is just sprung.

She's too stupid to know that if she would just give the other guy some action, her boyfriend would pay her some attention. He'd give her what she wanted and needed! But seh won't leverage her power!

Black folk act too much like a collective. We don't think.

I know most blacks are democrats, but most I know can't give me a good reason why they are democrats. Most say they vote democrat because their parents are or because most blacks are or some just couldn't give me a reason. In my region, around 35% of the population is black. I voted in the past presidential elections back in 2000 and 2004 and the most I have waited was 15 minutes. This year I waited 3 1/2 hours just to vote. I noticed a lot of blacks and other minorities (hispanics, asians, etc.) were there. Some older people in the line told me that this was the first time they voted and it was because President Obama is black. I find that to be sad because it looks bad on my race and that we just voted for Obama because he is black (biracial). I asked some blacks why are they voting for Obama and the majority couldn't give me a reason other than his physical appearance. I voted for McCain because I agree with more of his views and think that he has the experience to lead this country. Now I don't think Palin was the best choice, but I agree with some of her values of pro-life, fiscal conservatism, etc? I would've rather he selected Huckabee or Guilanni but what's done is done. Obama is too liberal for me and it seems like he talks a lot but doesn't say much. With the state of the black and hispanic communities (extremely high crime, poverty, lack of education, etc.), socialism doesn't help with our values. I know sometimes a person needs help but you can't live off the government for your entire life. I believe in being fair, being fiscally conservative, and doing what is right.

What I want to know is if you are a minority, are you afraid to admit that you are a republican? If you are a democrat, why are you one? And if you are white and democratic, why is that? Did you vote for Obama because he seems "cool" and just following what most of the celebrities (Oprah, P. Diddy, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Sharon Ozborne, Lindsay Lohan, etc.) are saying?
WOW, another black conversative from Hampton Roads? What a small world!!!

Yes, I'm afraid to out myself as a black conversative (who voted for Bob Barr) to the wrong person in the Washington DC area. I feel like a total outcast here because I believe that abortion is mostly wrong, we should secure our borders and deport illegals, and every person is responsible for their overall well-being.

I just wanted to commend those that have posted here and "outed" themselves. Good for you for standing up for what you believe in.
