"In its question, Rasmussen Reports did not describe the congressional health plan in any way, merely identifying it as the “health insurance plan that members of Congress use.”"
So, what is this telling us?
Here are a few conclusions that I've arrived at based on what I know abut the health care program utilized by Congress:
1) That most people want health insurance through their employer.
2) That most people want to choose from a 'cafeteria-style' list of plans to find the one the works best for them.
3) That people want to be insured by the federal government the same way that Congress and all other federal employees are currently.
4) That a large percentage of people might prefer to 'go out of pocket' and utilize a government run hospital like Walter Reed or the Naval Hospital.
Surely, everyone else who said 'yes' had at least one of these things in mind
I also think a lot of people don't even know what kind of health plan their Congressman has. Many people seem to think that Congressmen don't pay for their healthcare plans, for instance.
"Too bad the GOP stands athwart that worthwhile goal, shouting "NO!""
Typical shouting fire in a crowded theater.
I'm part of the GOP, a retired federal Employee and I am for a system to the general public like the Federal retirement system. Even would go so far as to just expand the fed system. Insurance is based on the more subscribers you have the cheaper it costs per subscriber.
I think that "we the people" should have a health care program like that of the insurance industry executives.
