The Alaska Department of Fish & Game knows how to maintaining our natural resources for the benefit of future generations of Alaskans. The feds don't, nor do they care.
That all seems reasonable. And those are good examples showing that reasonable regulations can work.

Not by the feds it hasn't. The States regulate the natural resources of their State. Any encroachment by the feds into the area of fish and game management violates the 10th Amendment of the US Constitution.

If fishing stock is depleted, the price will go up. In a bad economy, fewer will buy it and it can be costly to export since other countries have similar species to enjoy. When fewer people buy, the industry will self-correct, boats will be docked and fish stocks will increase again. Government's stupidity cannot realize this trend. The only thing that can happen with the gov't is certain select lobbies with enough money and power will circumvent these restrictions through kickbacks and bribes.

Simple management WILL take care of the supposed problem of threatened/endangered species. Beyond that this is a 2 bird 1 stone type of deal for the Gov. First they get a better grip on the control of another piece of economy. And second, they get unchallenged control of waterways in the name of some crisis.

Reminds me of the Bull Trout BS we have here in the NW only on a much larger scale. The Bull Trout is a "threatened" species... try to NOT catch one in the two main bodies of water that hold them in MT . It's all about control and nothing more ! Every inch of land around Hungry Horse or Koocanusa can be shut down and off limits in the name of the Bull Trout within minutes if needed... It's all about control and nothing more as far as I'm concerned.
