1 million out of work in Florida for first time on record

The statistics were released Friday, a day after a report showed $334.6 million in federal contracts awarded through the federal stimulus package created 1,635 Florida jobs.

Wow, Obama sure created jobs!

Wasn't it Obama who stated that if he didn't acted right away the jobless percentage would reach 8.9%...well in Florida it is 11%!!!

There is no way around it the Stimulus is a failure. It was created in haste and applied with complete incompetence.

As usual our leaders in Washington screw up and we pay for it.

Obama isnt in charge of Florida, Republican Charlie Crist is, so if the unemployment numbers are bad, he's to blame. Obama only gets the credit when the numbers go down.

Saving liberals the keystrokes to spin it..

btw, the math comes out to $204,648 tax dollar PER job spent in Florida

unemployment is going to get worse. They don't see a bottom in the layoffs til sometime mid 2010.

It's every man for himself unless you are a favored Corporation or bank.

Obama is the president, he and Biden both stated that if the stimilus wouldn't be signed a.s.a.p. more jobs would be lost...stimilus was going to create many jobs and cut back on job loss. Charlie Crist has nothing to do with that, the president has!

Just as Obama wants to get the health care bill through our throats and cap and trade! Wait till more people will loose their job when that is going to be signed by Obama!

Of course that doesn't count all the people who are working part-time but need to work full-time. Add to that all the people who are no longer counted because they have simply given up looking. here in MI it is 15.3% officially. But the reality is that unemployment rate is far higher.

Take a look at the areas of the country that have the highest unemployment then look at where the stimulus money was/will be spent and tell me if you see a connection between the two. The Apollo Alliance stimulus is pay off to Democratic supporters like Unions and ACORN-style community groups that isn't intended to create jobs. Like everything else this congress and this administration has done, it is a bait and switch designed to take borrowed taxpayer money and divert it to Democrat's electioneering efforts.

If you look at the map, MI with the highest unemployment in the country is 25th and RI with the second highest unemployment is 52nd (LAST!). CO is number one with 7.3% unemployment!

Most Jobs Created by State

Where is The Money Going? (http://www.recovery.gov/Transparency/Pages/home.aspx - broken link)

It has nothing to do with creating jobs and never did.

Obama is in charge of the stimulus tho and that if there is little stimulus efect that spoells trouble. Then congress has passed bills that have mandated spending by every state and sates that have a balanced budget law will have to increase revenues or play a shell game as the feds do.
