Clinton goes over and get's all preachy towards Pakistan for not fighting AlQada - one day after they get hammered by a massive bombing attack no less - meanwhile her boss back in Washington cowers from taking on AlQada in Afganistan because he's too worried about his poll numbers. The arrogance of these people is beyond belief.

She's done more since January than Rice did in 8 years...other than lie about WMD and warnings from the Clinton admin regarding terrorist attacks. Funny...former generals were all over t.v. today
praising the "good cop-bad cop" strategy. Plus she's right...we've known that the Taliban is in Pakistan for years...but those who attacked us (like the many Saudi hijackers) were let go so we could attack a dictator for having no WMD.
OP: The "hard to believe" comment is justified because many members of the Pakistani secret service are known to be helping the people we want to catch. This has been the case for quite some time. Many South Asian newspapers openly speculate that the Pak intelligence has actively helped to set up the Mumbai attack. All Pakistani governments (not majority of its people) are interested in is the foreign aid they get from US.
However, I do agree with you that we are trying to find reasons to weasel out of Afghanistan and yet asking others to keep on fighting. I am for keeping troops in Afghanistan (was totally against Iraq war) - we need to have some principles. Else, we are letting the real terrorist element - including a few in Saudi - get away with 9-11. If you cannot stand up to the people responsible for 9-11, you have no backbone or morals.

Exactly. I was very proud of our Secretary of State today. She said what has needed saying for a long, long time. The previous administration had no problem pouring billions and billions of taxpayer money into Pakistan while they paid us back by harboring terrorists and calling us names. This Secretary of State told them straight out that our taxpayers who are hurting themselves aren't going to play that anymore. GOOD GOING HILLARY.
Oh, I think calling out the Pakistanis took some chutzpah. Very dramatic, and it makes Condi look like a bumbling idiot: "What airplanes? What terrorists?" She should have called Hillary for some tips.

Good. Watching Bush appease the Pakistanis for eight years was enough. It is time we tell them how it is, and who the boss is.
