economics 101: when a third party interferes in business they make things more expensive. The businessman has very few options. He can eat the costs, move overseas where the cost doesn't exist, slow production or go out of business. Those are the options.

This has always been true. It will always be true. Doesn't matter who the third party is. Govt or unions. They both create poverty.
I don't think that those of us that run 2% to 5% margins are in any position to pass anything along ... The Federal Government "will", and quite effectively, close, thousands of small businesses down with this morbid legislation .. it's as simple as that.

Similar laws had been passed In Hawaii decades ago.

Employer has to provide medical insurance to full time employees. The major side effect to small business is that the employers try to convert full time employees to part time basis (usually for new hires). So it is not uncommon for many people in Hawaii working two or three part time jobs.

But most likely it will not hurt employment figure overall. Hawaii's unemployment rate is consistently lower than national average. Now it is at 3.3%.

Dems are so stupid. Their good intentions blindside their ability to think analytically.

Occupations have tiers? Who is the decider?

do those people just get thrown in jail? if not, why can they use the system for free while everyone else has to pay?

the idiot libs are going to be in for a shock if this gets made law.. they will have created an even poorer middle class and even poorer poor... if only they had a brain...

No taxable income = exempt from individual mandate. If they live in a state that expanded Medicaid, they qualify for Medicaid, if they live in a state which did not expand Medicaid, they are uninsured but are not required to purchase insurance.
