Thanks for the Info- if the quote is correct POTUS is even more arrogant and uncaring than I previously thought.

"According to Representative Earl Blumenauer of Oregon, who supports the health care bill, the president asked, “Does anybody think that the teabag, anti-government people are going to support them if they bring down health care? All it will do is confuse and dispirit” Democratic voters “and it will encourage the extremists.”"

Other than that, all of this "Big evil, Socialist Govt." talk was not happening until Obama took office. Despite the fact that most Americans viewed Bush, his War, and his Patriot Act unfavorably; I still dont recall any of these teapartiers protesting Big Govt gathering during his term, when the bailouts were actually proposed and passed.
And of course the bailouts.. Which really galvanized them..

The reason why I'm pointing to Bush is because the way you & a lot of others try to make it seem like Obama is ruining America, all of the bad stats that we have today are due to the bad things that Bush left on the plate for Obama to clean up.

And tea "baggers" did not give themself that name, they were known as "tea party protestors"..

Obama has done a lot of things that are overlooked by the media.

For example, he has done wonderful work starting to repair the bad image of the United States around the world, which was mostly created under the 8 years of the Bush administration.
It’s a lot better to have good international relations than to taunt other nations and threaten wars.

What is arrogant and uncaring about pointing out TO DEMOCRATIC LEGISLATORS that they never had the votes of these protestors to begin with, and their vote on health care reform isn't going to change that?

That's called a political reality. If you're a Republican elected into office, your district probably supports more Republican positions. You don't vote on the Democratic side because you hope to get more Democratic votes next time, and potentially lose your Republican support. You vote the way the people who elected you want you to vote.

Obama is pointing out that the protestors aren't the people who voted these DEMOCRATS into office. And these same protestors won't be voting for a DEMOCRAT next election, no matter how the DEMOCRAT votes on health care reform. So the legislator needs to be thinking, not about the protestors, but about the people in his district, the people who voted for him last time around, and whether they want health care reform or not.
