The long ordeal of Fouad al-Rabiah, an innocent man and a 50-year-old father of four, who had been in US custody for almost exactly eight years, finally came to an end today, when he was flown back to his homeland of Kuwait from Guantánamo, where he had spent the majority of those lost years, after several brutal months in US custody in Afghanistan.

There is a name for people who take pleasure in torturing innocent people and that is sociopath.

Care to explain how it is "leaning, leaning, leaning"?

He was tortured into false confessions.

Tortured. Innocent. Absolutely disgusting. But Bush/Cheney said that torture was necessary and ok.

"Leaning" indeed. We should be ashamed of ourselves.

So because the site told the story of an innocent person being tortured under Bush it is leaning left? What is leaning right; covering the story up? According to you I lean left because I am against the torture of innocent people, so by your logic everyone on the right supports the torture of innocent people. I think you may find that while you support fascist torture of innocent people, most right wingers don't.

Republicans believe in original sin, ergo there are no innocents.

They want to see as many people as possible tortured - and they would like to administrate the torture - it's like doing God's work.

Remember, these days "torture" means putting them in cold rooms, playing loud rock music, keeping them awake, etc.

A year into Obama's term and he's just now being released?

If he was so innocent, then why wasn't he released to Kuwait on January 21, 2009?

Obama shares about a years worth of culpability. Are you liberals prepared to acknowledge this fact?

I know about truthout from other progs linking my to it but never would I go there for any other reason. If you have read one of their articles you have seen all of them. Progs really think it is a very valid site, though.

How about leaning, leaning, leaning, leaning, leaning.
