If anything bigger than the one guy who was involved in the terrorism attempt turns up it might fall a thousand points next week. It's about time for Al Quida to burn us again. They're in for a big one about every eight years.

Case in point:
WTC 1993
WTC 2001
??? 2009

I doubt it will go lower than it is today for any length of time. The general trend is going back up toward the 2007 levels. It will be a slow climb as the economy continues to improve.

When one of the major banks fails next year, let's not say their name, I would say somewhere in the 8,000's.

PS CNN sucks, watch Bloomberg.

Wait a minute. Didn't the market climb a little, a few months ago? And weren't all the liberals claiming that as proof that the economy is improving?

Don't pretend like you can predict the market. Don't even go there.

The market has been steadily improving for 7-8 months. If you'd invested in an S&P 500 index fund in late February/early March, you'd have seen something along the line of a 40% ROI. (I didn't, because I was dumb and frightened. More the fool I.)

Well, it is. The OP does look rather silly right now, what with the Dow never going below 6,500 and currently hovering in the 10,500 range.

LOL

This cracks me up. This original post was made back on March 3rd (2009) just days before the market turned around and began it's rocket ride back to the current value of well over 10,000.

Sorry Cruxan - it never made it ANYWHERE NEAR down to 2,000 (let alone 1,500). It bottomed out around 6,500. Just so you know - that was 9 months and 4,000 points ago.

And next year, it's going higher.
