That's a really interesting article. But you have to wonder if when the FBI withholds stuff for public consumption if there aren't extremely good reasons for doing so. We have to remember that Al Qaeda has the same access to the media as we do.
Cheney would provide solid leadership in this time of war. We don't need "consensus building", we need a man of action. """
The "man of action" syndome is what got us into this mess....
"""The terrorists would know they were losing the war, instead of sipping tea in secure surroundings, planning their next attack on innocent Americans.
So when he was in control (for SEVEN YEARS)why DIDN'T Cheney let those terrorists KNOW they were losing the war ? ().
Not to the perpetually ignorant:
Re-read my post when you stop laughing at yourself.
I said do not make policy. As in the present tense.
What office does Cheney hold now?
You proggs remind me of an old girlfriend who never moved on and was always trying to get back together.
"So, Dick Cheney is back in the corporate media, telling everyone that President Obama is ignoring national security and endangering America. And the corporate media let him get away with it, as if he's some paragon of expertise on the issue. He is, in fact, the exact opposite. It was his administration's incompetence that allowed the worst ever attack on American soil, and it was his administration that followed that attack by undermining our national security, even more."
"The former chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, General Hugh Shelton, said the Bush administration pushed terrorism "farther to the back burner". And in a sympathetic portrait of the young administration, Bush at War, the president himself told the author, Bob Woodward, that he "didn't feel that sense of urgency" about going after Osama bin Laden. "
"When Senator Carl Levin, a Michigan Democrat who was then chairman of the Armed Services Committee, sought to transfer money to counterterrorism from the missile defense program, Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld sent a letter on Sept. 6, 2001, saying he would urge Mr. Bush to veto the measure. Mr. Levin nonetheless pushed the measure through the next day on a party-line vote."
Cheney has no real interest in national security. He has no faith in the American people and his contempt for us is evident every time he attacks the President, duly elected by a majority of the voting populace.
He is a disgusting, bitter old man seeking only to glorify himself at the expense of the American public.

<sigh> More of the same from Kos, 9/11 was all Bush's fault for relying on the Clinton national security team, CIA and FBI, that was put in place by Clinton.

Then why didn't the terrorists fear attacking the U.S. when Cheney was "President"?

Exactly my perception! He is a bitter, mean-spirited old man who cannot bring himself to "let go".........Now that he is out of power, he's desperately trying to grab power back. He just doesn't want to face the truth, he is the PAST, he is a "has been" now.
Then why didn't the terrorists fear attacking the U.S. when Cheney was "President"?
Excellent question and I'm sure that you will not get a response...at least not a logical or intelligent one.
