Mr. Beck is one of the smartest minds in the media today.
He does not ask that you take what he says as the "gospel" - all he asks is that you take what he says and check it out - then form your OWN opinion. He is quite clear - don't be a sheep.

I listen to what Beck has to say - then check it out for myself. Then make up my own mind.
Nothing wrong with that
That's like what they used to say back in High School... "Just one beer... it won't hurt ya... Think for yourself man!"
Now look at me!
All kidding aside, Beck must be seen for what he is. He's an entertainer. George Carlin said a lot of good stuff too, but his main purpose was to make you laugh and get that 20 bucks out of your wallet. Beck is no different.
Well I don't see what all the fuss is about Beck. While watching I kept thinking 'this guy is a Libertarian Lyndon LaRouche'. He shows the same disposition to believe in shadowy figures pulling the levers of power in an organized effort to transform the US into some progressive utopia. His thesis is more complicated than that but that's the gist. I do think Beck is spot on in his reading of the Constitution and the intention(s) of the authors. But in the end the reason I've not watched Beck to date is the reason I don't watch cable political commentary regardless of point of view: too much hysteria. Olbermann, Shultz, Beck, Hannity are all the same to me. Left or Right. They're all way too strident and hysterical.
