By failing to extend these tax credits, the govt is in effect raising our taxes.

It's akin to sleight of hand. "no we didn't raise your taxes, we just didn't allow you to take tax credits".

I can hear the liberal spin already.

Well, you know, if just one Republican Senator had found the sense to recognize that the health care bill was going to pass anyway, it could have been out of the way weeks ago, and the Senate would have had time to squeeze in the tax extenders bill. But why shoudl they care. After all, they can always just engage in their usual Blame Obama game. So the Senate will take up the bill very quickly once they get back. I wonder if the Republicans will be behind it or not...

The infighting on the health care bill was between democrats. Recall, republicans were left out of that debate, so not sure where you're going with that line of reasoning. And no, they wouldn't have addressed the tax extenders bill (had they passed the senate bill sooner), they would have just adjourned earlier than Christmas Eve. Heck, if they really wanted to, they could have stayed in session and gotten it done prior to Dec. 31st. Shows where their priorities are.

They will pass it, making it retroactive to the first of the year. It's an election year, the wrong time to be foolish.

Happy Tax Year Oklahoma!

For every Dollar you pay in Federal taxes Blue States give you $1.55 back.

Despite the fact your one of the most meanest, ungrateful, bigoted, backward States in the Union.
