There are hundreds of deputy Secretaries of State most of whom, like Cheney, had absolutely nothing to do with national security.

I think ovcatto just had a D'oh! moment.

"The Iran Syria Policy and Operations Group (ISOG) was an interagency organization formed in early 2006 within the U.S. government, consisting of officials from the State Department, White House, Central Intelligence Agency, Treasury Department, and other agencies that worked, to influence regime change in Iran, and to influence its access to world banking and credit institutions. Co-chaired by Elizabeth Cheney, the daughter of U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney..."

There are a lot of people in the news expressing their opinions about our security situation lately....some more qualified than others on the subject so, why single her out?...because she's a republican?.....because she's Cheney's daughter?

I think she is going to run for the Republican nomination in 2012. I could be wrong but I doubt it.

Man, talk about really not knowing when to get off this kick, you must really dislike her or is it just because she is a Republican?

She is worried about Liz Cheney and the power she might have.

She was obsessed with Palin for a while, then Beck and now onto Liz Cheney.

Many dems get bothered by a very intelligent person who can handle anything that is tossed at her.

She is very, very impressive.

Out of curiosity, where does Obama's expertise on national security originate? He does not have any military experience, no past work in law enforcement, nor did he hold any position one of our intelligence agencies. As a matter of fact, since Obama has lived abroad for many years and based on his past associates he would probably be illegible for a security clearance of any kind. I am young and have a clean criminal record and it would take me at least two years to get my top level clearance. All Obama had to do was get elected to get top level clearance, which is easy compared to going through the vetting process. The same could be said for members of Congress who are granted clearance without proper vetting.

Of course, I certainly do not believe Cheney's daughter has a leg to stand on either, but I still thought it necessary to point to the elephant in the room.
