American voters are split 45 - 45 percent on whether Barack Obama's first year in office is a success or failure and split 35 - 37 percent on whether the U.S. would be better off if John McCain had won the 2008 election, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll released today. As he marks the first anniversary of his inauguration, President Obama's approval has slipped slightly into an even 45 - 45 percent split for the first time.
He's tanking on all domestic issues, Health Care, Jobs, Economy.
I think come election time this year, he will likely be so toxic that most vulnerable dems will reject offers to rally the troops.
The best part of this link: By a 43 - 30 percent margin American voters think Obama has been a better President than George W. Bush, the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University survey finds. Voters blame Bush more than Obama 55 - 20 percent for the current economic conditions, but they say 35 - 24 percent that Obama's policies have made the United States less safe than those of his predecessor. Another 38 percent say safety is about the same.
There is no doubt in my mind that Obama is a much better choice than McCain/Palin. Hell, anyone or ANYTHING (my pet rock) is better than having McCain/Palin near the White house.
I know people were worried about missing the Lost premiere but there are about 5 minutes worth of accomplishments to speak of so it could have just been delayed.
I am surprised his positive numbers are this high. I can't think of a less qualified person that we could have in the White House currently. He displays no leadership, his speaking ability has been exposed and I wonder how low his numbers will drop in another 3 years. I think his and the other "elected" Democrats destruction of the economy will continue to drastic proportions and Mr. Obama will go down in history as probably the most inept President this country has ever seen, including the infamous disaster that was Jimmy Carter.
The only positive I can draw from this situation is that the inevitable move towards conservatism will grow stronger due to the President's liberal catastrophes. And I hope that we see some real conservatism before this country is ripped apart by this administration's irresponsibility and power grabs.
Aren't you fascinated by a "national" poll that questioned precisely 1,767 registered voters? Good golly, Miss Molly--they must be 1,767 of the most important people ever, to be telling the whole country of more than 275 million what we believe!

You think one year of "failed liberal policies" will make Americans forget the truly horrible long years of George Bush and conservatism? We all know how successful the Bush years were.
