The majority of We the People cast a vote for "pay go" rules. Extraordinary circumstances being an exception, I think it appropriate for Obama to steer back on course to that promise he made as soon as humanly possible.
For the furtherance of this thread, I suggest people quote Jefferson directly as it applies to modern day life as you have done. Can't rep again so soon.
