Obama set to unveil $3.8T budget - NYPOST.com

Quote:
WASHINGTON -- President Obama is to unveil tomorrow a $3.8 trillion budget proposal -- a 6 percent increase over last year, according to a published report.
Only in Washington will you find a "freeze" defined by a rise in overall spending. Can we just admit right now that once again, he is lying through his teeth?

Such a needed decision is not popular and politicians rarely are re-elected where they do unpopular but necessary things.

What are the unpopular and necessary things?

We need to CUT spending, not increase it.

I cannot find the video of Obama saying that he will run the government just like we run our households. On a budget!

Guess he lied again.

That freeze was a fake move to the right, do not believe a word he says.

When he said it wont happen until 2011 or so tells me that when it comes to that time the lying POS will then say " I am sorry, things have changed and we cannot do that right now."

Another SCAM JOB and certain kool aiders are falling for it.

The only thing he needs to freeze is his nose, it is growing like crazy.

He knew resident liberals in Congress would offer a backlash. Figured it was safe to announce a spending freeze that wouldn't get passed, since it would make him appear more like Clinton, then simply blame Congress for not enacting something he knew would fail.

This is sorta like the "I promise not to *** in your mouth" deal.

You could tell during the speech that there wasn't going to be any spending freeze.

If there were, wouldn't Obama have told us how he was going to pay for his government "green" jobs programs or the big giveaway of university tuition where students can select the most expensive college and never repay the big loans he wants handed to them.

The speech seemed like nothing but a promise of more spending, more entitlements but not one sentence on who will pay or how these big spending programs would be paid for.

This illustrates the very problem I have with Barack Obama. His every move is politically calculated. Conveniently, he announces a spending freeze right before the State of the Union address to score political points. Why? Because his base is pissed off and he's down in the polls. Not to mention the Massachusetts/New Jersey/Virginia elections have left him with a massive hangover headache. By definition, the "freeze" announcement was nothing but a political move.

Now we see that a "freeze" actually means a "net increase" in spending. How convenient.

When will liberals step up to the plate and acknowledge that they've been hoodwinked? You elected this guy, now its time to step up and confess your sins.

No, but all can certainly agree that this thread is yet another product of deliberate right-wing deceit and misrepresentation. Can you point to any respectable source indicating that Obama planned to implement an ACROSS-THE-BOARD spending freeze, as in one that applied to everything? You DO realize, do you not, that the budget includes really close to everything??? No, you won't be able find such a report at all, and the reason for that is that no such plan was ever described. The areas to be frozen and not to be frozen were clearly specified. How did you manage to miss them???

The Rasmussen poll proves that people did not believe what he was saying.

They are on to his "speech" now - they smell a lie when they hear one.

If you really cared about spending why weren't you littering this forum and taking up bandwidth during Bush's years?

Comes across as empty and disingenuous at best. Ten to one you cashed your Socialist stimulus check from Bush and bought something with it.
