Securing rights and governing those who consent, does not require good fellowship. It requires obedience to the terms of the compact.

^^ We don't all have to agree, but we do have to debate fairly.

If we can have intelligent, reasoned debate then we can make progress. If not then we simply polarize each other and no progress is made.

But its ok...the younger generation is starting to get restless. Hopefully they can help put this country back on the right track since some of the older generations simply can't get along.
The politicians are there to serve special interest groups and corporations.
The citizens are told to be patriotic. We should all know by now that being patriotic means never to question the Status Quo. Shut up, keep on shopping and keep on watching TV.
The dumbing down of America. This country is plagued with ignorance.
Americans are immature brats. Everyone screaming and shouting until they get their way. So it's like a nation of heavily armed 10 year olds.
Greed, selfishness, and mistrust of each other are modern America virtues.

How do we expect our politicians to get along when we as citizens can't get along? We use these obscure titles of "Democrat" and "Republican" to place blame when really the blame is on all of us.

If we the people decided to band together and work at solving issues politicians would lose all the power they hold by dividing us. I don't care if your democrat or republican, how often do the politicians actually work in your best interest?

We have so much potential...
That's been my message for years.

Partisan brainwashing only divides the citizens. And that's what they want.

They are all the same liars and crooks.

Come together....unite and make decisions based on what's best for thios country and our people; without mindless pasrtisan bias........and they are screwed

Default 63% of Republicans believe Obama a Socialist

Special interest groups and corporations have so much influence with both parties that it has totally corrupted our system. Every politician has some sort of project they want funded for their constituents or State.
That said, I found a recent poll by Daily Kos of Republicans only pretty enlightening. 39% of Republicans believe Obama should be impeached. (despite no crime being committed). 63% of Republicans believe Obama is a Socialist. 36% of Republicans do not believe Obama was born in the U.S. 31% of Republicans believe Obama is a racist who hates white people with 33% unsure. 24% of Republicans believe Obama wants the terrorists to win. With another 33% unsure. A full 1/3 of Republicans are "unsure" of these questions. Unrelated to Obama, 31% of Republicans believe contraceptives should be outlawed. 73% of Republicans say that openly gay teachers should not be allowed to teach children in schools.
It would be nice if on occasion we could come together to try and find solutions to the huge problems we face as a Country. How can Democrats or Moderates have a reasonable discussion with Republicans to find solutions to our problems as a Country when the opposition party has such outrageous beliefs?
