Bush took the largest surplus in American history and turned it into the largest deficit. The Republican Congress went right along with him in expanding government and approving spending bills. Considering their recent history, why should anyone believe Republicans when they say they are the party of fiscal responsibility?

They're not. But now since we have a democrat as president who's fiscally liberal they want people to think they are and always have been the party of fiscal responsibility. But unfortunately people are buying into their revisions and fear tactics, they'll pick up a few seats this November.

Both parties scream about how they are fiscally responsible and how they are "moderate" and "inclusive" and then they do whatever they damned well please as soon as they are elected.

Obama has spend triple in 20 months of what Bush spent in 8 years in office.
Everyone liking the George Bush Billboard, "Did you miss me yet"?
If we keep going down this liberal route it will destroy the USA!
I hear socialism is on it's way...

Well, now that the Republicans in Congress are a minority, they can talk of being fiscally responsible. This is a good thing, however.

But since the Democrats hold a large majority in Congress and since they, along Obama, have outspent Bush three to one, there is nothing they can say about being fiscally responsible. Do you really want to see what's going on in Congress? Look at the amount of cash Pelosi and her family and friends have made tax payers pay on Government aircraft travel and reimbursements. We are talking about millions of dollars or air travel.

That didn't address the question about how Republicans are the party of fiscal responsibility.

Here read this slowly

Clinton
left the gov't with a surplus of like 250-500 billion

Bush
-started 2 wars (1 being necessary but I don't have the time for this argument)
-prescription benefits program for seniors
-made a tax cut for the wealthy
-8 trillion dollar deficit is the result

Obama
-inherited 8 trillion dollar deficit
-spent 1 trillion to put the same people complaining about the deficit back to work
-Will add another 1-2 trillion to help rev up the economy and pay for the 2 wars George Bush started.

So the question to ask my conservative/republican/teabaggers supporters
-Do you take welfare or entitlements at all? Do you live like you complain?
-Do you know what socialism means? Did Glenn Beck explain it to you? Did he tell you that America is on the far right of socialism needle for the last 80 years?
-What would you have done with a financial meltdown? I take it your saying 20 - 30 percent unemployment is acceptable?

Funny how we read about how Obama is a fiscal spending nutjob run amok yet the same people use him as a measuring stick to make it out as though they're fiscally conservative.

"Fiscal Conservative" is a catchy phrase to delude simple minds come election time (which is a 24/7, 364 days/year mantra for politicians).
