The "Threat" was the doubt about the gap between the WMD that we knew Saddam had at the end of the Gulf War, and what UNSCOM had destroyed by the end of 1998. Where were the rest of them? Well, in the summer of 1995, Iraq's chief of special weapons, Hussein Kamel, had defected, bringing suitcases full of documents with him. Those papers and Kamel's debriefings indicated that Iraq had hastily and unilaterlally destroyed stocks of WMD at the end of the Gulf War out of fear that the west would punish Iraq for them if they got their hands on them. The numbers that Kamel was talking about almost exactly closed the gap between UNSCOM numbers and 1991. But could you trust Kamel? No one knew, even though everything else from his debriefings checked out. That residual doubt was all the threat that actually needed to be removed, and of course by early 2003, Hans Blix and UNMOVIC were in the process of doing just that. Of course, Bush couldn't wait for that to happen. He had to move fast or lose his chance at war. So off he went...

Cheney is just continuing his mode of misrepresenting facts and repeated false assertions. That mode worked well for him during the first term of GW's Presidency. He found, correctly, that there are people dumb enough to fall victim to that, notably, GW himself. During GW's second term, Cheney fell from grace. The WH became wise to that. This angered Cheney. His egomania could not cope with the idea that his role, in WH strategy sessions, was relegated to pencil sharpening and bringing coffee. Now that he is out of office, he continues to bombard the dumb with his rantings, because he is angry that his public opinion numbers are so low. He dislikes the way the Christmas bomber was handled, because his methods are so much more fun, even though so much less effective. The only thing positive I can say about him, he was a Vice President of this Country.

Sensible? Like in the kook-fringe left that is taking this country into moral and financial ruin?
God Bless a man like Dick Cheney that has a moral compass and a love of his country unlike all you vermin.
May God continue to bless him and his strong voice that is able to point out all the outrages that ObaMao and his Demoncratic minions are perpetrating on America.
I only wish that there were more like him!

When this country comes back to its collective senses there will be retribution against all those who instituted policies that are forcing our country into generational debt and moral decay! Then may your words, "locked in an underground bunker and throw away the key", come back to haunt you and your arrogant ideology!

Greetings,
Cheney didn't do nothing when he was in office, but shoot people, now he wants to put down Obama for the job he is doing. Since in alot of ways Obama inherited the problems from Bush/Cheney..
He needs to get behind Obama and help him. We need all we can get to get this country back on track.
Guess his Mama didn't teach him - dont have anything to say nice, dont speak..
Be Blessed

never mind that 9/11 happened on Bush's watch. He gets a pass for that I guess It is hard to believe how blindly partisan some people can be.

Thank You! This is a FACT that the kook-left would have us forget.

Can you say Jamie Goerlich and her stupid separation of sharing intelligence between the FBI and CIA?

Yeah, let's try foreign terrorist combatants as civilians in our courts with full Constitutional Rights of citizens?? Let's NOT!

With thousands of airplanes taking off every day, Bush was somehow supposed to know the 4 that would be hijacked?

Actually, supplying Iraq with weapons started under Carter. And the U.S. never gave Saddam or Iraq WMD.

Oh yes. Let us remember what Biden said;

Gateway Pundit (http://gatewaypundit.firstthings.com/2010/02/joe-biden-in-2002-we-have-to-eliminate-saddam-joe-biden-in-2010-iraq-war-wasnt-worth-it-videos/ - broken link)

“We have no choice but to eliminate the threat. This is a guy who is an extreme danger to the world.”

“He must be dislodged from his weapons or dislodged from power.” You were emphatic about that.
Quote:
SEN. BIDEN: Well, the point is, it turned out they didn’t, but everyone in the world thought he had them.
Read the rest of his comments and watch the video.

Let's not forget what obama, the cut and runner said as well.

He would have started withdrawal in March 2008, leaving behind an Iraq filled with AQ terrorists and insurgency bordering on a civil war.

He denigrated the surge, said it would not work, but would make things worse.

There is a reason liberal democrats are not to be trusted with national security - they inveritably get it wrong.
