Senate Democrats spent Thursday night hammering away at Sen. Jim Bunning (R-Ky.) for single-handedly holding up action in the upper chamber – but he blurted out a message to one of them on the Senate floor: “Tough s—t.”

And at one point during the debate, which dragged on till nearly midnight, Bunning complained of missing a basketball game.

"I have missed the Kentucky-South Carolina game that started at 9:00," he said, "and it's the only redeeming chance we had to beat South Carolina since they're the only team that has beat Kentucky this year.

The unemployment rate in Kentucky is 10.7 percent.

Jim Bunning Repeatedly Blocks Unemployment Benefits Extension, Tells Dem 'Tough ****'

Republicans continue to be the party of no. They continue to not get it. 1.2 million people won't get unemployment benefits they need to survive, and he's complaining about missing a basketball game on TV.

He shouldnt have said what he said but he is also upset over the spending.Which many Americans are upset over also.

If democrats cared so much about unemployment they wouldnt have spent the past year focused so much on Healthcare. They would have actually done something in that massive stimulus bill that would have actually created jobs. Did democrats really think paying for the study of genetics of grapes was going to create that many jobs.

Why isnt Pelosi asking Obama where the jobs are like she did Bush?

At some point and time they are going to have to make some very tough choices and bring in this spending. They dont have an endless checkbook they can keep spending and had they not wasted so much in that stimulus we might not need to keep extending unemployment and such

It is so easy for them to listen to Bunning's words and interpret them as they see fit. Actually he is trying to do just as you say.

If the Dems were really worried about unemployment they would try to do something about the over 500,000 new ones that showed up last week along with all the rest. I really don't think they understand what they allowed to be done with that Stimulus bill and how it was aimed at helping just before the election this year. It is foul business and they are using any part of it that helps their party and to hell with the people needing help.

boo hoo hoo.. More liberal whining over Republicans not providing yet another extension of unemployment because Democrats havent done **** to boost employment numbers.

So rather than focus on the lack of competence to pass legislation to encourage and assist individuals to be able to obtain employment, you want to be outraged because some Senator said "tough ****"..

Priorities, I often wonder how Democrats got them so wrong..

Do you have the ability to discuss a topic, or is calling people names all you are capable of doing?

Bunning is a known clown. The RNC/GOP refused to back him for re-election this year; EVEN HIS OWN PARTY DOESN'T WANT HIM. They're willing to lose that GOP seat in the Senate to get rid of him. Good riddance, adios, au revoir and get lost.

Here's our thread on Bunning and the GOP.
