New Afghan chief has criminal record - Washington Times

Quote:
The man chosen to be the fresh face of good Afghan governance in a town just seized from the Taliban has a violent criminal record in Germany, but Western officials said Saturday they are not pushing to oust him.
I guess this is a good way to win the hearts and minds by putting a criminal in charge, for god sakes why can't NATO hire an educated Afghan that have a clean record and who's determined to improve his country, maybe then we will see some improvements being made.

I can't believe how arrogant and condescending your post is. The fact is NATO doesn't pick who Afghans elect or other wise decide run towns or other officers in their country. I'm sure NATO would be happier if it was someone else but it's not like they're a colony which we can dictate too, self determination of people and all that, even if you don't like the results.

NATO needs to start assigning educated politicians who have a clean record, and they can do that easily, because they have the upper power, but sadly they're leaving these decisions for the warlords, who only invite their criminal buddies while NATO sits there and let them do what they want.
