Wow, so much complete and total ignorance of the HUMMER brand. First off, the H1, the original hummer, is the only model that was excessively large and sucked up gas. The other model HUMMERs were nothing more than standard GM SUVs with a different body style making them look similiar to the original HUMMER. By the way, the H1 was the first model to be discontinued long before the brand was eliminated. Secondly, some talk about HUMMERs being obnoxious. They are no more obnoxius than any other large SUV or high performance sports car. You just hate them because they've come to represent gas guzzlers. Hummer vehicles were torched by eco-terrorist and yet they don't touch high performace sports cars. Buying a vehicle is a personal choice. You don't like a particular vehicle then that's your choice. I don't want YOU, the eco-nuts, telling me or other people what we should or shouldn't be driving.
Prius = aerodynamic, efficient, travel, compact, versatile, economical
Which Hummer? There were three different models and the last two models were no bigger or inefficient than any other SUV on the market today
For Prius I would add slow acceleration, expensive for what you get, not nearly as fuel efficient as some people think if they drive it the way they drive their traditional vehicle (jackrabbit starts and hard accelerations), and a big hot green house. Too many windows letting in too much of the sun's heat for where I live. Hospital co-worker drove one and ended up selling it because of the heat and she didn't get anywhere near the promised fuel economy. What happens is some Prius buyers buy the car and see the mpg. They think they can drive it hard and still get the same promised mpg. They drive it like their previous V6 or V8 car. This type of driving turns on the gasoline motor more often and the electric motor less often. Their fuel economy goes down to roughly the level of a midsize sedan with a 4 cylinder engine inside. I don't hate the Prius. I hate the smug Prius drivers. I do want a hybrid car but it'll either be a Ford Fusion or a Honda Civic. The reason the Prius is the number one hybrid vehicle is because the smug eco minded drivers want to be SEEN driving a hybrid. Before the return of the Honda Insight, you could not tell at a glance that the other hybrids were hybrids. They wanted other people on the road to know that they "cared about the enviroment and were just trying to do their part to save the earth".
"Say, is that a hybrid?"
"Yes, I just wanted to do my part to help the enviroment."
"Good for youuuuuu!"
"Thaaaannnnkkksss"
Driving a hybrid is fine, just don't be so damn smug about it. I drive a 2003 Chevrolet Malibu with a 3.1L V6 engine. Because of HOW I drive, I average between 22 to 23 mpg depending on if I'm running the AC or not. I have relatives who drive SUVs. They need these big SUVs for their job and their recreational activities. Try towing a camper or boat with a Prius. Try hauling carpet/flooring materials with a Prius. Buy the vehicle that best suits your needs and wants but don't try to tell others what they should or shouldn't buy.

Least efficient 2 seater car is Lamborghini Murcielago at 8mpg city 13hwy, worse than any SUV or pickup truck above
Least efficient minicompact is Astin Martin DB9 at 11city 17hwy
Least efficient subcompact is the Bentley Continental GTC at 10city 17hwy
Least efficient compact is Bently again, two models at 9city and 15hwy
Least efficient midsize is Ferrari Scaglietti at 9city and 16hwy
Least efficient large car is Maybach at 10city and 16hwy
So why weren't eco-terrorist burning down these vehicles or dealerships? Why don't the above group suffer so much eco-hatred that Hummer endured?
I hate stupid SUV/truck drivers that feel the need to take up 1-1/2 compact spots in the parking garage/lot, regardless of make and model. Although, it was pretty funny watching a guy in a lifted Chevy truck try to get past a giant SUV parked in the bottom compact level of the parking garage...the guy barely made it past because they SUV was sticking out 5 ft from the spot.
WTF are people thinking when they do that?
Sorry you decided to buy a gigantic vehicle, now park in the back where there's room, not in the front where you take up more than one spot and stick out the back of the spot.
