But he turned and walked the other direction just before he would have gotten right in front of us.
You can see all my pictures from last night's event (a fundraiser for Barbara Boxer and the DNC) in my album, here.
Let me know if you have any questions about the event!
That's creepy. Do you really get that excited about a glimpse of the Fuhrer? I have read of similar accounts in 1930s Germany, in which citizens were thrilled at the site of the Fuhrer.
Did you remember that he is supposed to be the servent of the people, not thier master? I have met four presidents (as a part of a scheduled event) and it is not thrilling or interesting (one of which was Clinton). I would much rather talk to fellow peers or scientists.
Oh, come on guys! What she experienced IS exciting. I'll be honest with you, I'm a Deomocrat, but 2 years ago, President Bush (who I had NO time for), was in NYC going to the United Nations. His motorcade passed right by me and who do you think stood frozen watching it pass when suddenly I got a wave from his limo? I tell ya, I was grinning like an idiot and waved right back.
Whatever your politics, it is respect for the office of the President of the United States that makes it exciting to be that close to them. And to know that you were just in the presence (regardless of your leaning) of the most powerful man on the planet. I am an American first, then the other labels start coming on. OP, I am delighted you got such an opportunity!

I don't care about labels. It IS NOT a big deal- they are politicians, not captains of industry or scientists. Again, I think that meeting a Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, or Steven Hawkins would be a big deal.
The most interesting president I have met (even though he was a terrible president) was Carter. The guy is exteremely bright and had a career as a submariner and farmer before political office. I thought that was far more interesting than his politics. Presidents- WHO CARES!
being in a room with the POTUS (any POTUS) for most people is a once in a life time thing. if you are a proud american you should be thrilled and get tingly to get that close to a sitting POTUS
why? He's only a PERSON (and I"m being generous when I use the word person) like you or I. He deserves no more respect than that. Who cares.

I love your post. I also would love to see respect given to the President. All of the names calling directed at President Obama is completely disgraceful. IMO

Only if you are insecure of yourself and have no self worth.

Not if you think he is not a patriot, does not love this Country and is nothing but a card carrying socialist. Then you count the days until you can vote him out....
For those who don't watch Fox here is the Obama blowup last night. I can't believe that I had to get this video since the worshippers here would have wanted to see something like that, I would think. Enjoy.
Obama clashes with gay rights hecklers in L.A. - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ynews/ynews_ts1697 - broken link)
Great video - look how angry he is. Listen to his sycophants trying to drown out the hecklers.

I see no anger from those who have responded. Mocking of "laying hands on The One" or "being in his very presence" ...maybe.
I'm finding it a bit hilarious that so many people are so offended that someone would be excited about having seen the President in person. You people are weird.
