Here are a few highlights from the bill:

1) It prevents corporations who received bailouts from spending money to influence elections, and toughens laws that ban government contractors from making political contributions.

2) It prevents foreign corporate influence over our elections.

3) And it strengthens reporting requirements for political expenditures and contributions.

Congressman Grayson is proposing amendments...

1) Ban corporations who receive money from the Federal Reserve from spending that money on politics.

2) Ban corporations who hire lobbyists from spending money in politics.

This really concerns me. Many banks (GS, JPM, MS) were forced to accept bailout money. Make no mistake, if they did not accept the money, the regulators would live with them and make their lives hell. This seems designed to stifle dissent and speech.

Graysons amendments are confusing. How does he propose to segregate "that money" from the Federal Reserve from the other pot of money the firm has?

Here's another article on it. A problem coming our way?

Under the DISCLOSE Act, certain incorporated entities would be restricted in how they can exercise their free speech rights. There is an exemption for some in the media sphere like newspapers, TV news, and the like. However, there is one driving force in today’s public debate that is NOT exempt. Bloggers will not have the same exemption provided to other media sources. Never mind that the Supreme Court’s opinion in the Citizens United case stated, “Differential treatment of media corporations and other corporations cannot be squared with the First Amendment.”

GS wasn't forced to take a bailout..heck GS wasn't even a bank.
They became a bank so they could get bailout money.
Those big ones gladly took money at 0% and went right to Wall Street trading it to earn huge profits for themselves.

Read "Too Big to Fail" by Andrew Sorikin. They certainly were forced to take the money. And the reason they were all forced to take it was because Paulson, didn't want to stigmatize the banks that actually needed it (Citigroup). Registering as bank holding companies was necessary to get the money and was really a formality and done rather quickly.

Here is some more for you.

"The first 1-pager is Paulson's talking points for the bank. It basically confirms that he put a gun to all their heads. It says they must agree to take their cash, and that if they protested, then each bank's regulator would force them to take it anyway."[LEFT]
