I think I made a mistake. I moved to PSL almost 3 years ago and I have made ni friends...I wonder if the gulf side is friendlier?

What exactly have you done to find people with similar interests? I have been in Florida for 17 years and there are very few I call friend, though I have plenty of acquaintances. Do you have a hobby?

I tried some churches with no good results. I tried a singles fusion group with no luck. I have made friends with some people in Lakeland area on fb and they seem to be friendly. Thar is why I am wondering about the Gulf side.

Well, Florida is filled with millions of people. It can be hard to screen out the non-like minded and find the like-minded. The only like-minded friend I have is my fiancee. Everyone else is not exactly like me, but a true friend is someone who likes you for who you are, not for who they are. Anyway, PSL is not called "port st lousy" for nothing. The area does not lend itself to social gatherings without a great deal of work. I don't know your age, but my fiance's son lives in that area, he's 22ish, and he regularly travels to west palm beach and south to socialize. There are many more people in the south, and much more to do, and more clubs to join. It depends on what you want, a quilting circle or wave surfing for example. What is your type? Are you looking to be invited over for parties, or able to go out and BE the party? Are you an active person involved in health and fitness, cause there are a gazillion places to go for that. Or would you rather be in a bookstore? If you like the quiet life then lakeland is a good area. Good luck!

How old are you? Have you tried Meetups? Specifically tailored to your interests?

Meetups near Port Saint Lucie, Florida - Meetup

A lot of people meet other people and friends through their jobs. What kind of work environment are you in?

I also don't think it's a "east coast vs. west coast" thing, either. A friend of mine moved down from Delaware to West Palm Beach and within a couple months had met a lot of people. He met them all essentially through existing friend contacts - and through social apps. He subsequently moved to the Tampa area to be closer to family, and now complains of being bored.
