For years Fox's U-Bet was a staple at Publix. I now find it unavailable in either of the two stores at which I generally shop. Anyone know where I would find it locally? I know it is available via Amazon.

Talk to the store manager- I just had the guy at Tradition order some marinade for me. If it's in their system, they can get it for you!

If it is an item they usually carry regularly, and the shelf space/tag is still on the shelf (and just empty), then it might simply be temporarily out of stock at their warehouse. In that case, I would ask if the manager (or employee who does orders/stocking) knows when it will be available again. They may know what caused the interruption of supply, since vendors typically notify their clients why orders can't be filled. If you get a really generous manager, he might offer to take your name/number and have someone call when the product returns to stock.

If they were planning to discontinue it, they would remove the shelf tag and put something else in its place (stores hate empty spots). I'd still ask, since there might be a way for them to get it from other stores that might still carry it or have it on hand. In that case, you might also want to hit a few other Publixes and see if it's in their discontinued items area and stock up to tide you over until you find someone else to buy it from.
