Where can I get ethanol free premium unleaded auto gas in Portland area? I'd like to try a few tanks in my daily driver and see if I can improve miles per dollar.
Oregon enacted renewable fuel standard and by Sept 2008, all road auto gasoline was required to have 10% ethanol.

Non-ethanol fuel was allowed for antique vehicles, aviation and all other non-road use engines, but they were required to be labeled as such and I don't know of anywhere that offers it except PIR, Hillsboro Airport and the like.
ODA Measurement Standards Division Biofuel renewable fuel standard
Effective January 2010, ethanolis not REQUIRED for public road auto fuel as long as it's premium fuel (91 or higher octane rating), but they're not required to label it.
Gas stations that make 89 octane fuel by blending regular and premium will still have ethanol in premium, because blending E10 regular with ethanol free premium will produce midgrade with ethanol contents below legal requirement. So the stations would have to go three tank configuration or stop carrying midgrade/Plus altogether but I'm not sure if stations want to do that form business perspective.

Does your daily driver actually need premium? Seems to me the move would be to get a daily driver that will run on regular. What's your beef with ethanol? I don't think it makes sense from an agriculture perspective but I cannot detect any difference in the performance of any vehicle using 10% ethanol or none at all. So, some helpful reader suggests a source but it is 25 mi. from where you live ... ...

I too would love to know where in Portland I can find clear ethanol free gas. I'd love to get 35mpg again, instead of the 25 I get now...

I HAVE FOUND IT!!!!!!!! I was Googling around last night and found a topic on a BMW forum where a Portland member found a place in Milwaukie that sold ethanol-free premium grade gasoline. He couldn't remember the name but based on his description, I was able to find it very quickly on Google Maps. The post was made in July so I shot the station an e-mail and got a reply this morning stating they still sell the real stuff. I am helping to spread the word!

It's just south of the bomber a block past Courtney Avenue. The station is painted bright lime green so it's hard to miss. I am on this side of town at least once a week so I will be timing my fill-ups around those visits.

No it does not, however I'm willing to give it a shot for a several tanks. Since the influence of ethanol on mileage is all over the map in opinions and variation between vehicles, the only way is to try it.
If it yields better miles to the dollar, then that's all that matters. Does it? I don't know, because I haven't tried.
The merits of ethanol is questionable at best when you consider the environmental impact and petroleum usage involved in its production and sum of its CO2 emissions vs CO2 emissions reduced by using ethanol.
