...count the number of new threads on where to live in Portland? It has to be well over 62,000 by now.

We should have a sticky with all our opinions that people can just access. On the other hand, this forum will then probably die.

Lots of them are just fine, and not duplications, because people are asking about their specific situations -- likes, dislikes, job location, family makeup, etc. But yeah, there are a lot about "where's the best place to live."

kind of the point of a forum like this. Everyone has different needs, and often dont want their posts lost within one long thread, hence new threads. This is, primarily a relocation board, so think about what the number one question would be? Why get rid of the main reason for having a board like this?

You missed my point.

But that's OK.

Let the "what's a good neighborhood in Portland?" threads roll on.

Blazer, I see what you're saying, but I also see what the others are saying - some are general and could use a general type sticky, but others are more specific, IMO, and need a more specific response.

CBaillo - you are right, lots of great relocation advice in here. We were truly grateful for the info in helping us to make the move.

You missed my point, I didn't miss yours...I was actually addressing it directly. If you've been around message boards long, stickies may help keep things more organized, but there are certain things that people wills till choose to post individual posts on. Posts tend to get lost in a general topic "sticky'd" thread. Foresight will tell you that with a topic as common as "where should I live", in a one topic sticky, those posts would get lost in the masses, before most of them were even answered...

So, again, how does that help anyone, on a relocation board?
