Just want to give credit where credit is due.

On a recent visit to Portland, I had to take the MAX from downtown to the Airport. I got out my credit card to pay at the machine and suddenly a young man walked straight up to me and said "Sir, Please don't do that!"

My first thought...Oh no...what is he going to hit me up for?

Then he offered his all day pass that he no longer needed apparently. I graciously accepted and offered to pay him a couple of bucks to go for a coffee. But he didn't even want that.

And someone else went out of their way to give me directions.

You've got a very nice city with friendly people.

Cheers.

--- Vancouver, Canada

Great to hear! I've encountered similar friendliness in Vancouver, BC. Cheers to our wonderful corner of the globe! PNW reigns!

I;ve been wanting to take a train ride up to BC, but many have told me that BC is just like WA/OR and not really worth a special trip. How did you feel about your trip to Portland in that respect?

Yikes, I just saw in another post where you called all Americans stupid. I guess this is some sort of a retraction? I would hope so. What a terrible thing to say.

I agree with this statement regarding San Bernardino; that place is a backwards A$$ S#%T hole...The rest, I dont agree with...

But, to stay on topic, I find the people in Portland much nicer and more kind than those in Southern Cal...

For a big city, I've always thought Portland was friendly and cleaner than most.

First, thanks for bringing this to my attention. I don't use this forum very often and have posted on a very limited basis. The post(s) you are referring to were most definitely not made by myself.

I can only speculate that I've been the victim of a malicious troll-hacker a couple of years back. The posts are obviously complete nonsense and mindless diatribe. What is this San Bernardino issue? Never been there or to California for that matter.

As it appears as if someone has breached my password, I desperately want to delete my account, but upon reading the FAQ, there is no option to do so. Likewise, it is apparently not very easy to delete posts here.

I'll have to register with a different email account if I want to post here in future.

Apologies for any offense caused.

Hi Canadian,

I for one appreciate your comment regarding Portland. I also could care less what you may have said in other threads. There is a tendency these days to 'google' everyone (so to speak). Your comment on this thread is the only that is relevant for me.

Glad you enjoyed Portland, and thank you for posting! I am dying to ck out BC!! (soon hopefully)
