I have a business meeting coming up next week on the East side of Portland, and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a good restaurant to take my client? Thanks

I've heard good things about Clarklewis Restaurant Portland OR | Exquisite Farm to Table Ingredients | One of Portland's Best Restaurants

Where on the eastside? It's a pretty big area.

Because Clarklewis is a great restaurant, but it's basically right across the river from downtown. There's a lot of good places just over the river from downtown like Le Pigeon or Beaker and Flask, but in that area you could also just go downtown.

But further out on the real eastside or East Portland is whole different ballgame. But there's a few places further out that are good.

Pretty new to the area, so not sure exactly what spot the client wanted to meet, was just told a place on the East side. I was hoping for something preferably away from downtown, as parking can sometimes be tough.

Most likely he meant close in to downtown though, so likely east of the river, west of about ~39th. Still lots of great choices in there. Laurel Hurst Market would be a good choice.

Other options: Pambiche, Pok Pok, East Burn, Bombay Cricket Club, Wafu, St. Jack, and Vindalho.

Clarklewis is a good one--it's got a nice location and setting and it's the sort of place I'd take a client for a nice dinner. Laurelhurst Market is a good one if you've got a hankering for steaks or good grilled meat dishes.

Noble Rot on E Burnside is another place I like--and they've got a nice view from the deck above the eastside of town looking towards downtown.
