Hi all, Does anyone have a recommendation for a restaurant for my husband and I to celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary? Price doesn't matter, we are open to all types of food. Would prefer that it not be crazy loud.

What kind of food do you like? What kind of atmosphere do you like? It's hard to tell whether to recommend a ritzy downtown nightspot, a gourmet haven or a jazz club.

South Park downtown is a good option.

Great recommendation. We stayed at the Allison over Thanksgiving weekend and had several meals at the Jory (including Thanksgiving dinner), all of them excellent. Very nice property. Took a private wine tour which was a blast, and they gave us a free lift to dinner in town and back to the hotel after.

We really are open to any kind of food. We would prefer some place not super loud so we can enjoy a more intimate conversation that we don't necessarily get to have when we have our kids with us.

Last time I was at Paley's Place, the atmosphere was intimate and I could hear my dining companion easily. And the food was incredible.

Another place we absolutely loved was Roe. Very intimate, very quiet and outstanding food.

You could consider Beast in northeast Portland. Only one or two seatings for night, limited number of guests, and a James Beard award winning owner/chef. Limited set menu with multiple courses.
