I'm driving from Phoenix to Portland mid-March. What is the best driving route (to avoid snow ice)?

I-10 to I-5 and keep heading North until you reach Portland. You can check tripcheck.com for Oregon.

I usually get onto 99 at Bakersfield and avoid getting near LA. They will merge up north and its I5 the rest of the way.

You merge onto 99 after taking the 10 to LA then to the five.
