It looked accidental to me and thought he would just get a fine. Surprised he was suspended. To me it looked like he was just backing up trying to get his footing
When you are standing on a flat surface, you know it. All of a sudden you aren't and you don't look down to see what you are stepping on? Could have been his own team mate, I'm not buying the accidental, not at all. He didn't even react when Rodgers pushed him.
Professional athletes don't do things "by accident". In Suh's case, it was "deliberately accidental". He has serious problems, and should be kicked out of the league.
First step could have been accidental. But the second step? No way. He knew he was standing on someone. If you are trying to avoid them, you can feel it and then you look down to get out of the way and he didn't. He actually stepped backwards, right onto where he knew Rodgers' leg was. That makes me assume even the first step wasn't an accident.
Whether the first step was accidental or not, a player who has a rep for being dirty like Suh does will not and should not get the benefit of the doubt. The lions need to take a long look at Suh and see if they can afford such a liability on their roster. Another such incident from Suh should result in a year long ban. Anything after that should be a lifetime ban.
He's getting so good at being an a$$hole on the field, that he can now sneakily step on someone without making it look like a stomp. I mean really, like you wouldn't know you were on someone's leg, and a normal reaction to that would be immediately lift up your foot.
Maybe a nice guy off the field, but goes over the line too much on the field.
Crippling blow to the Lions, who really could have used him to keep pressure on Romo. Their line is good, but Dallas' offense may end up having some fun with them in the 4th quarter now.
If I were the Lions, I would seriously consider the future of Suh. At minimum, I think they need to discipline him beyond what the NFL has and say "Accept the discipline, or get cut." A great talent means nothing if he's going to continue to do dumb things on or off the field and jeopardize his teams chances in the process.
