The federal government which has "Tomahawk" cruise missiles & "Apache", "Blackhawk", "Kiowa" and "Lakota" helicopters - and used the code name "Geronimo" in the attack that killed Osama bin Laden, officially objects to the name of the Washington Redskins....

FACT: The Washington Redskins are a private entity, gov't can't tell them what to do. Daniel Snyder is on record several times saying he will NEVER, EVER change the name.

The name does not need to be changed at all to stop disrespecting the American Indians.

All that is needed is a logo change:

While I don't want the government forcing the issue, I'd like to see the team name changed to "Potomacs", with the logo being an accurate depiction of a Potomac tribesman.
