In hindsight.. It's amazing that there were a whole lot of conversations at the time about who the Colts should take.. Manning or Leaf.. And as I recall, the thought was that Leaf had the higher ceiling.

Higher ceiling... I think they achieved that in different ways...
It sounds like he "has come to the end of himself". As a recovering addict, it took me a long time and a lot of pain caused to myself and others to reach this point. Maybe now at least some folks will quit ragging on this guy.
I'm happy to see this and everyone deserves a second (third? fourth?) chance. But Ryan Leaf's issues were not all as a result of his addiction. He was a Grade A jerk when he was sober too.
