Cosco Alpha Omega Convertible Car Seat

Rating: 3 out of 5
  • Currently 3.0/5.0

I was intrigued by the Cosco Alpha Omega Convertible Car Seat because I had heard it was incredibly versatile, mostly due to it providing safety seating for three different ages as your child grows. I was also interested upon hearing that it did not take up much room at all, as I had a small vehicle at the time and wanted a hassle-free car seat that would fit into my car without a struggle.

I have to admit, another great perk of the Cosco Alpha Omega Convertible Car Seat was how well designed it was, and how aesthetically appealing it was - it had worn an award from the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association. It was also of course, functional, so this appealed to me.

The first stage that the Cosco Alpha Omega Convertible Car Seat is intended for is the infant car seat, which is rear facing and has three different reclining options. While Cosco says that it is very easy for the seat to recline, it isn't and definitely requires a little bit of elbow grease. This is the same for the harness as well, which is very difficult to unlock, which has its advantages and disadvantages - you don't have to worry about your child unlocking themselves, but it can be a struggle to do yourself.

I wasn't too impressed with this stage of the Cosco Alpha Omega Convertible Car Seat. It was pretty hard to operate the feature of the seat.

The second stage is the toddler stage, for children under 40 lbs. It has an adjustable headrest, which is actually easy to adjust - something I was relieved to see. There is also a removable pillow, which was another feature I loved. The base also helps to keep the seat from wearing on leather or upholstery - at this point I had upgraded to a luxury vehicle, so this was a bonus for me.

However, there was virtually no storage space in the Cosco Alpha Omega Convertible Car Seat at this stage.

Overall, I liked the Cosco Alpha Omega Convertible Car Seat, but I wouldn't recommend it.
