MDMA will be used as a medicne for people with posttraumatic stress disorder, according to a news article in The Netherlands. I guess it was also news in other countries, lol. MDMA can increase empathy and attachment.

It's known that PTSD has something to do with the amygdala*, so I guess that MDMA works on the amygdala. It's also known that psychopaths have at least something wrong with their amygdala, so I'm curious what MDMA can do for psychopaths who lack emotional empathy.

Have you ever known a psychopath who used MDMA? Or do you have any idea what it effect it would have?

MDMA is reputed to increase a sense of oneness and belonging with others. Supposedly this would enhance the experience of empathy which psychopaths are unable to feel.

I am unable to access the site you reference but see that there are a number of places online on mental health sites and forums where people are discussing the possibility of this theory. Google "psychopathy and MDMA." It's an interesting question.

One piece of clarification - while it may be that some psychopaths suffer with post-traumatic I'd suggest they are more apt to cause it in others. At any rate it's important for people not to make the assumption that post-traumatic stress disorder and psychopathy have any equivalency. That would be quite a disservice to many with the disorder.
