What is the psychology behind people on CD who post emojis as response to posts with no other comment?
These are are not the standard emoji that is on the side panel of the post. These are links that you have to tap to get to gif. or whatever and mostly they are inane equivalent of rolleyes, nothing very clever. And they follow assiduously every one of my posts. Other than these sometimes there is a snarky comment, or two. I can tell they are very disturbed by what I post but are unable to articulate whatever it is that they feel, other than what feels like hate. I put them on ignore and they should know that but they still follow me. Of course their posts are visible to others and may that is good enough, they dont need a response from me.
Why do you make of such a thing? What kind of a preoccupation is this, this constant mocking?
They may even follow mw here which could be very interestng.

I haven't seen that, but it doesn't surprise me. CD is not particularly kind.

I am not concerned about kindness, it is just creepy. More to the point I am just wondering what would be the drive behind this kind of action. ODD? Depression?

We use Slack at work, and a lot of conversations happen with just an emoji. There are plenty of emojis that can stand in for "got it!" or "thanks!" or "I totally agree." I find the emoji selection here on CD woefully limited.

To me, the eye roll emoji says not so much "hate" as it does "Here we go again!"

Sure, i do that on texts with family and friends. But CD is not that kind of personal space where sometimes good discussions happen. Why would one bother if you are not engaging in a dialogue? I guess i evetyone has their reason.

Could it be that they have engaged you in dialogue in the past and think that the conversation just can't go any further, but they want to nonetheless express an opinion, maybe for the sake of others?

The fact is i have never actually seen any post of theirs that even gives a clue as to what they actually believe, or how they think, or a an opinion expressed. A simple question to clarify what the said can elicit a nasty response, as if it was an insult. It is always wrapped in snark and terse in response to my post. More often than not it is not even in text, it is a link to some jpeg. Image. I must have struck a nerve somewhere obviously.
Most certainly their response is for others, because I have them on ignore. Yet they persist follow me from thread to thread. I cannot imagine what the fun in that would be, like talking to oneself. It seems a bit sick.

If you have them on ignore, how do you know they "follow {you} from thread to thread"? If you can't see their posts that are annoying you, why worry about it? Is this thread to call them out, or...?
