We own a rental in PG (eventual retirement home) and have a good property manager. We got a letter from the Sheriff of CC saying that a possible alarm system had been installed on our premises and that a $25 registration fee was due. Our prop manager checked with the new tenants and they said no.

I'm curious how we happened to get on the list for this. Has anyone run into this before?

Thanks!

Well, there is an alarm ordinance that says they require registration.

I have not received any such letter, nor have I heard of anyone else getting one either. I would hope all it would take is a phone call to the Sheriff's office to get it straightened out.
Has the issue been taken care of yet?

When we moved in and turned on our alarm, the lady from ADT gave us the form to register.

I finally got a chance to talk to someone in the CC Sheriff's Office and she said that the lawn services report potential home alarms due to the ordinance requirements. She removed my name from the list. I can only imagine the number of false alarms they must receive.

Thanks all.

Wow! So we've become a county of spies reporting on each other and being mandated by the government to do so? Doesn't seen that could be right.
