I can't believe we have been here in the PG,PS and North Port area for a week already. Our bags are packed ready for tomorrow's flight back to Minnesota.
It was a great week though. Bought a house, did the inspections, insurance in process and even met a couple of the new neighbors.
Everywhere we went, the people were Very friendly and went out of the way for us.
Closing is May 20th so we expect to be down here for good shortly after that.
Cheers!

mktobob, we did it in 4 days. It was a whirlwind but SoFlGal made it easy. We even managed to sneak out a day to sightsee a little and get to know the area some. I agree it is amazing and the people are amazing and so friendly. It will be so nice to be party of this terrific community. We are over the moon excited.

To ORHS66.. We found the area we wanted first. Went to a realtor who showed us everywhere but where we told him...
Then when he finally showed us the area we wanted, 3 days before we were leaving, we found our house. Told him to place our bid. It was on Saturday and he assured us he would do it the next day and to come back on Monday to sign papers. We showed up on Monday and he acted liked he was just going to show us more houses! We demanded to know what happened to our bid... yep, he never did it and it was now under contract. Someone bid on it the day after we told him we wanted it. He never even told the seller we were interested! I broke down, got up and walked right out! Early the next morning hubby started driving the same area as the missed house. We saw a sign on the ground for a house that had an awesome 1/3 acre lot with our home on it! LOL We picked up the sign and called the listing agent. Asked her if she could show us the home. She was there in 10 minutes. It was just what we wanted inside. Went back to her office.. offer completed. And she even came back early the next morning to show us the home before we flew home! First pick your area and second... get a realtor that listens to what YOU what. BTW, we wound up with a much nicer lot and smaller house. No Regrets! But on a whim we went to the house we missed when we closed on ours. Met the new owner and welcomed him to the neighborhood! He was so happy that we did he offered to show us the best fishing spots in the harbor.
