I am outside between 4pm-8pm on many days. If there is no breeze or wind, then my odds of getting bit by no seeums is 100%. This time of the year no seeums are not bad but when rainy season starts it gets bad. I own stock in cortisone cream...

You need to add several zeros to the poll to make it worthwhile

if you live right beside any body of water (canals/retention ponds) you will get eaten alive...just a few blocks away it seems like they're not any bother at all..

Change the poll to per day and I'll answer.

I started to answer this when I read it is "per year". Did you literally mean per year or had you intended that to read "per day or per week" ? I couldn't possibly know per year with any degree of accuracy. I'll put it like this, I used to live in Upstate New York and I've lived in SW Fl for 7 years now and I got bit by something or other a lot more in New York.

Just curious, are you planning to move here ?

What part of Upstate did you come from that you got bit so much and by what? I come from the central Adirondacks, heart of black fly country, and still think I get bit more here. Not complaining, just saying.

There are all kinds of biting things here; mosquitoes, fire ants, and the infamous no-see-ums. Outside of the fire ants, the mosquitoes and no-see-ums can be avoided by not being out at dusk and dawn. Running into fire ants is usually from not paying attention.
I think that's a nice contrast to when I'm in Maryland. There we have the invasive Asian Tiger Mosquito that is active in the daylight hours and the regular, everyday mosquito that comes out at dark. There is no winning there outside of slathering yourself with DEET, which I don't really care for.

I really don’t get bitten by much of anything this time of year other than the occasional fire ant (I often stand on the edge of the grass barefoot in the mornings waiting for the dog to do his business). My husband and kids also rarely get bitten. We tend not to be outside much at dusk, though. I will sometimes get bitten at night in the summer, but maybe that’s a bite per week or so. Mosquitoes don’t tend to like me much, I guess.
